Greetings! , My name is Grace and I am currently a college student at Cal Poly SLO studying Landscape Architecture living at home in Portland for the summer. It brings me great joy and fulfillment to spend my time caring for and engaging with children; I admire their sense of playfulness and curiosity about the world . I know that summer is a sacred time for all children, where they have the opportunity to explore the world and expand their interests outside of school. I am motivated to make the most of my time with any child by incorporating engaging activities that align with their interests, supporting the development of important skills while prioritizing their safety and adhering to the standards and expectations of the household. In the past I have had the pleasure to babysit for several of my neighbors ages 5-11 where I learned how to effectively communicate Read more in conversation and play in meaningful ways while maintaining a clean environment and ensuring all chores are completed. When the weather permits I love spending as much time as possible outdoors, making various arts and crafts, any card or board games, and am always open to participating in any activities that their imagination stirs up. While volunteering in a 4th grade classroom, I learned the value of patience with children and different techniques to facilitate the growth of their skills in reading and writing lessons. I recognize the importance of remaining calm and assertive to encourage children to practice healthy habits even when they are hesitant to do so. I feel confident that I would be a great babysitter because I am responsible, trustworthy, and enjoy working with children. As of now I am available Mon-Thu all hours of all days and Fridays from 8-4pm until the beginning of September. Additionally, I am fully vaccinated and will adhere to all safety precautions necessary as we emerge from the late stages of the pandemic.
