I have been in the childcare business since 1989. I started keeping children in my home on order to be with my own children when they got home from school after their father and I divorced. I had not worked the 10 years we were married and being a stay at home mom their whole lives I wanted to continue to be there for them just like I always had been. Because of the decision to start a in-home daycare I found my calling, the most rewarding job that fell in love with. I realized that I not only loved taking care of other parents children but that opened a door for me to have and love the parents as well. Those families became apart of our family. From that time forward over all the years that I kept children in my home or the years of owning a licensed Read more facility I had a close relationship with 95% of all of my parents. So after two years my small in home daycare grew to the point I decided to open my first licensed facility. After 5 years I remarried and sold my first daycare and our family moved to Branson in 1996. We loved living in Branson but in 1998 my parents needed us to return to our hometown (Natchez MS) to help my mom take care of dad that was diagnosed with Parkinson's. I helped with my dad but also I opened my second licensed facility in 2000. I was licensed for 109 children, employed 8 full time and 3 part time employees. I sold the that daycare in 2012. Both of my parents passed away in 2010. So our family moved back to Branson in 2013 through January 2019. We returned to MS I once again to help my husband’s brother that was very sick. As soon as I returned to Natchez in 2019 I was flooded with calls for childcare so I decided to follow my heart and start keeping childcare again. This time I wasn’t interested in a large facility so I began keeping the children at our home. We had a large game room that worked perfectly for a smaller daycare and I loved every minute of it. Taking care of and loving children is my life. I couldn’t think of anything else I would love doing more. Having three of our own children still living in Branson we decided to return here to live once again. My daycare parents and I cried for weeks but they understood how much we missed our on children and grandkids. The sweetest thing of all is that we still FaceTime each other as often as we can so I can watch my babies as they grow and they won’t forget me. Childcare is my calling and my joy.
