I first became a caregiver for an individual who was wheelchair bound, non-verbal, and had cognitive difficulties. Although this started while I was teenager, I continue to care for her on an as needed basis. I've also taken care of a three year old who is full of energy and creativity. I have worked with one of the best nutritionist and I'm exremely careful with allergies. I worked in a medical center and a hopital setting for many years. I am good under pressure. I have a bachlors degree in biology. My next step was grad school. However, with my Grandfather's parkinsons progressing, i decided to stay in town to be his primary caregiver so that he would never have to see a nursing home. I have no regtets with this decision as it reinforced my passion for taking care of people of all ages. I enjoyed teaching 2-4 year Read more olds how to swim just as much as taking care of the elderly. I have also been a lifeguard, swim instructor, substitue teacher, and helped organize many events that I feel would make me an excellent nanny.
