Hi! I'm Mariah, i'm 21 years old and I'm born and raised in Des Moines. I attended Iowa State for a bit at the start of covid and majored in early childhood education. There I was involved in a mentor program where I would help elementary aged students who were struggling in school subjects such as math, reading comprehension, spelling, and sciences. While doing so I was also a nanny for a kind family of business owners in Ames. I have experience working with at risk youth in treatment as well as in shelters which has helped me understand the complexities of young minds and ways to help them in various ways regarding mental health. I like working with kids because kids have the spark of creativity and imagination that we tend to lose as we grow older.
