Dear parents, I am 36 and have a bachelor’s degree in political science and Africana Studies from New York University, and a master's degree in international public health from Boston University. I currently work from home as a communications consultant.   I love music, travel, and volunteering. I played violin for ten years and have learned djembe drums and guitar. During college I backpacked through Europe, and studied abroad in Ghana. After finishing my undergraduate studies, I volunteered in Indonesia for about three months, and traveled to Argentina, Chile and Antarctica.    During my time at NYU and over my travels I have worked and volunteered extensively with children. I tutored fifth grade students, assisted at shelters for children and worked with mentally and physically challenged children in Indonesia. During my most recent trip to South America, I volunteered with impoverished children in Argentina.   I have a great deal of experience working with newborn babies. I was a nanny for 50 hours/week for a baby from the time she was 1.5 months old until she was 6 months old. Also, while working at the birthing clinic in Indonesia I was continuously helping care for newborns.   I do not smoke and can provide at least two current references.
