Hello! My name is Ileana , I'm currently a 20-year-old junior attending UT Austin. As the oldest daughter of 5 children, I liked to call myself the third parent of the ensemble, because both my parents worked when I was a child, it fell upon me to raise, care for, and look/clean up after my three other brothers and youngest sister. I'm majoring in Applied Learning and Development in order to eventually become an elementary school teacher (preschool-6th grade) and although I don't have any professional experience, my classes have also helped me prepare and understand children's needs and responses better. I cared for my siblings during all stages of childhood and endured an extremely loud and vocal upbringing from my parents, but came out cool and collected. My youngest brother also has a rare neurological disorder, which inhibits his responses and reactions, often ending up in tantrums and loud, Read more physical behavior. He is aged 12 but is mentally still four years younger. I share this personal information so that any special needs parents out there can feel comfortable knowing I have experience with all kinds of needs and children <3
