I grew up in Dayton, Ohio (Carroll Patriots alum) and after moving around the country and world I have gladly settled back home. I am a 2013 graduate of Saint Louis University with a degree in Theology and minor in Social Work. After four years in St. Louis I moved to Syracuse, NY for one year to complete a year of volunteering through the Jesuit Volunteer Corps at a soup kitchen. I spent time in Kansas City, MO where I worked with adults with disabilities in their homes and at a day program where I supported individuals to achieve their goals and maintain independence. During the summer of 2015, I worked in southern Washington state as a Girl Scout camp counselor. My days were filled with singing camp songs and playing logic games during hikes and times cooking meals together. I challenged myself to begin exploring the world and spent Read more a month traveling New Zealand before settling in Geelong, Australia (south of Melbourne) for eight months. It was the most wonderful experience to learn about such a new place and have breathtaking adventures while living and working Down Under. Next I explored Chicago for two years and worked in the L'Arche community. L'Arche is a beautiful organization that brings together persons with and without disabilities to learn and grow together as friends. I've taken on a new role in Development but continue to work in the disability field and work for a Dayton nonprofit supporting adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities. I have been babysitting since I was 13 years old, with over 16 years of experience now. I have been with multiple families, with children of all ages, for years and enjoy building relationships with the parents as well. I work with parents to instill the values they want in their children and value respect and honesty. I love playing games and try to balance activity with relaxation. Hide and Seek is my favorite game from childhood and if there is a swing set nearby I will be swinging right along with the kids. Safety comes first and having fun is always encouraged! Being around children never feels like a job and I try to learn from the kids just as much as I try to teach them. I currently live in Kettering with my own car and am willing to drive around the Dayton area. I have limited availability but am eager to meet new people and help families out some weekends.
