Hi! My name is Jen and I am seeking a short term babysitting job! I am a Graduate of Boston University's School of Public Health, where I study Program Management and Maternal and Child Health. I am passionate about healthy pregnancy and childbirth, and became a volunteer Doula to be an emotional support person for teen moms in labor. I am also a trained post-partum doula, where I received 40 hours of training in newborn and perinatal care. I am an energetic and loving person and very responsible. I'm a good listener (even though I love to talk!), and I take direction well. I'm very committed to my responsibilities, and I am known for being motherly and putting the needs of others before my own- something that has earned me the catchy nickname of "Mother Hen Jen" among my friends! I have babysat my friends' nieces and nephews (ages 2mos to 4 years) countless times, I nannied two children ages 5 and 8 over a past summer, during undergrad, I was a homework helper for 3 lovely girls ages 10-13 years regularly during the week, and spent a summer nannying four kids (all 4 and under!) which was a blast! Throughout high school I volunteered at our annual children's Valentine and Easter dances. I played games with the children, taught dances on the dance floor, coordinated egg hunts, and my senior year had the inexpressible honor of wearing an oversized bunny suit and being the Easter Bunny for photos (not something I envisioned doing on the morning of my senior prom!)! All of my experience has helped me realize two important aspects of childcare: First, Never trust the "Mommy told me I could...." line,  and second, if there ever are questions, concerns or confusion, always resort to "Mother knows best" and communicate with the parents.
