Hi, my name is colleen and I am 24. I was a nanny for two years, for a couple with an 11-year-old boy with spina bifida, and his 6-year-old sister. this lasted until the boy moved up to live with his father in another state. I have a 21-year-old brother with apraxia, and i’ve volunteered at a respite we had at my church, until those who attended, moved away/found one closer to them. we had a few families driving more than an hour and a half, to come to our facility. i’ve helped with 2-3-year-old sunday school for about 10 years now; started doing it because a boy with cerebral palsy wanted to go to sunday school, so I was his one-on-one person. my dream is to specialize in special needs and fine art photography.
