Description

Caregiving is in my nature.

Hello folks,

My name is Melissa Hogan. I am a single-mom of 2 teenage daughters. I am looking for work between being available for my daughters. There are a few things I know I am good at, taking care of others is one of those things. My last job was in Assisted Living as an Activity Director. I enjoyed my job but needed to focus on my girls. With them both in school and sports, I am looking for work in the “in between and around.” (Suggested by my oldest about availability!) I have my own car. I was CPR certified for my old position but I am not currently. That may change here shortly. I understand each “family” has their own way of doing things and as single mother trying to raise responsible and caring humans,  I feel it would be easier to say that I can not think of many things I wouldn’t be comfortable doing. I believe I can respect how your family likes to go about daily life while I work for you and yours. I drive a 2008 Honda Civic. I can get kids to and from practices and activities, take care of meals, and stay into the evening depending on the need. I would like to be upfront and say this…I am doing my best to be as present as possible with my daughters and still bring home extra money. I am hoping to find some work where it would be ok if my girls were with me, or I brought your child to my girls’ practice or games/competitions. Obviously, we would make these things fun! Snacks and time to play for us too! My daughters are good girls who enjoy school and being involved at Hidden Valley HS. Currently, both are in swimming and one has begun FFA. Between school, meetings, shopping, homework, practices, games, and leisure time we are busy but happy. Being a single mom I understand that your need may just be knowing your child is cared for and about. Helping with homework to the best of my availability or doing the grocery shopping for your family with kid/kids in tow, getting them to appointments (counseling, pediatrician, therapies), playgroups. A nanny of sorts but part time and flexible for your family and mine. It may sound very corny but getting through these days with humor and heart is important to me. Message me with more in-depth or specific questions. I don’t get offended easy, I am up for a challenge or learning experience,  and I am more than happy to bring my daughters along for an interview or answer any questions about our lives. Including you being able to see where we live. I am open to watching your child at my home. Meals, homework, projects, over-night stays while you get away for the night…let’s talk about your schedule and needs in person and see if we can make something work!
