I have been so very lucky to have worked with children all my life, and to have found incredible joy and growth in my work! after early years of babysitting, I had a large family daycare of my own as I raised my three children. I so much enjoyed being a part of the lives of all those families, some for 10 years and more. after selling my house, I was a nanny for twin boys from birth to age 2.
in 2000, due to travel needs, I worked with the american red cross, obtaining cna and hha certification, then worked mostly with seniors until my grand babies came along. I now have five grandchildren, and since they all live in the greater portland area, I am newly relocated here myself.
ideally I would love to find a flexible family with one child who would enjoy visits to play with some very sweet grandchildren. I will be living with my mother, so there would be ‘grandma’ love times two. we are located in aloha,cross creek area off of 198th , ideally it would be great to find someone in this area, but I do have reliable transportation so that would just be a nice plus. I would prefer to work at your house for the most part, but take many outings and of course go visiting those other sweet children at times. references available upon request of course.
i am eager to explore the libraries, parks, farms, etc. of the area. I also have experience just staying in for date-night care, or for sick-days. I understand the importance of children having structure and consistency in their lives. I look forward to the possibility of long term relationships with a family (or families) in this area.
