Hi,
my name is katie, I’m 26 years old, and live in marcellus. i’ve had about 10 years of experience working with children. i’ve babysat for plenty of families while growing up, and once I turned 18 I started working in day cares. i’ve worked at the marcellus community child care center, learn as you grow in camillus, and my most recent job was at st. vincent de paul day care center in syracuse, where I worked for the past 4 years. I recently left st. vincent’s so I could attend college. I’m currently enrolled at cayuga community college in auburn, where I am taking nursing classes, to get my rn. through out my career as a child care provider i’ve basically done it all. i’ve worked with all age groups, but for the most part i’ve worked with preschoolers (ages 3 and 4). I was the teacher assistant in my class room at st. vincents for many years. i’ve diapered changed, helped with potty training, using the bathroom, meal time, getting dressed,reading, writing, learning abc’s, active time (playing outside or in the gym) singing with them, arts and crafts, cooking projects, and just overall providing care for them and helping them to become a little more independent.i absolutely love working with children. the reason i’ve worked in daycare for so long is because it’s always something new and exciting each day. I’m very patient, understanding, and laid back but I also maintain a constructive environment. I’m very artsy and love being outdoors with the kids. on top of the countless hours i’ve spent in the classroom, i’ve also been mandated to attend about 30 off site training hours, par nys requirements for a daycare worker every 2 years. all of my off site training has been workshops at childcare solutions in east syracuse. I’m infant, child and adult cpr certified and I’m also first aid certified, both certifications are through red cross. i’ll be enrolled in school in the fall, but my schedule still allows me a lot of free time. i’ll be in school monday through friday but i’ll only be there for a few hours everyday, except thursdays, thursdays i’ll be done by 3:45. if you think I might be a good fit for you and your family I would love to talk more. you can always write me back on here or you can always feel free to call my cell phone. my number is 256-6027.
