Description

I’ve been caring for children and babies for decades.  I began babysitting at age 9 and by the time I was 11, I was the go-to sitter for 14 families.  These are the positions I’ve held most recently:

I am currently taking of a 3-year-old girl for the last two years on Thursdays and Fridays, so I am available Saturday through Wednesday.  Some of what I do is I fix healthy meals and snacks for her, do her laundry, and make sure she takes her nap every day.  We play inside putting together puzzles, drawing and coloring, and reading books.  I always keep her room and any room we play in neat and tidy by the end of the day.  I regularly take her to the library to get more books and attend events and gatherings.  We also play outside in the yard and on the swing set, sledding and making snow angels, going for walks and adventures in nature and picking berries.

In the past, I took care of a boy, age 7, and girl, age 5, for over a year.  I got them dressed for school, prepared breakfast, cleaned the kitchen and took them to the bus stop.  I returned at 2:30 to get them from the bus, made them a snack and helped with homework. My responsibilities included emptying their back packs and clean out their lunchboxes as well as tidying up and emptying and filling the dishwasher.  During the Summer, I took them to and from Camp and on adventures to the Seacoast Science Center, Squam Lakes Nature Science center, berry picking and hiking the Rail Trail.  Their mother then left her job for health reasons so I was no longer needed.

I have cared for two boys, ages 11 and 8, and their 1-1/2 year old sister.  I took care of the toddler daily feeding her, changing diapers, playing games, reading and coloring in books.  When the boys got home from school, I helped them with homework then made dinner.  We also played inside and outside including making cookies and sledding.  On Sundays, I made dinner menus and purchased groceries for the following week.  Their mom referred to me as their “Mary Poppins” as she felt I went out of my way to care for her children.

I have more recent experience,  letters of recommendation, and a reference listed be happy to share with you.

Thank you for your interest and consideration!
