I have no experience as a nanny, but I loved raising my own children. I was the room-mom “go to” person at school because I participated in and volunteered for everything. I am currently an artist and love creative play (and doing fun, hands-on artsy projects with kids). children are so imaginative. allowing them to explore their imagination is so key to their development, but hands-on creativity has diminished in the age of technology. computers are great learning tools too, so I did both with my children.

i especially love one on one time, talking to and listening to them. I taught both my children the alphabet at age two and to read by age 4. I incorporated it into their play (not “work” as in school later on) and they loved it. I believe many underestimate what a young child can quickly learn and apply. I always spoke to my children as adults (no baby talk) and with respect. they grew to be very articulate children who could sit quietly and happily in a restaurant for hours (if needed) without getting out of their chairs. they were able to express themselves as “little adults” with proper english using advanced vocabulary and were always polite and respectful to adults and playmates.

i am considering starting an after-school art enrichment program for elementary children, right now, (as an alternative to nanny work) but truthfully love one on one time with children where I can really get to know and appreciate them as opposed to the group setting in a 2-hour class, so I decided to post this ad.

i have transportation, a clean driving record, could provide a pile of personal references for my character and work ethic and would be happy to take a background check.

i am a big believer that the children should have a “say” in the decision (so to speak) when a nanny is being considered and would request to meet them and spend a little time to get to know them prior to moving forward to see how we “hit it off.”

i am 52 years old and happily married. I can work part or full time 1-3 children. I especially love working with young children but can work with any age. I am available monday-saturday
