Hello! My name is Jackie Herman, I'm 28 years old and I currently work as a private yoga instructor. My boyfriend and I are planning a move to Portland, Maine in 2021, so I am looking for part-time (potentially full-time) nannying opportunities, beginning in the summer of 2021. My childcare journey truly began when I became a big sister (I'm 6 years and 8 years older than my sister and brother respectively). I quickly became my mom's helper, and as I got a bit older, became the built-in babysitter. I started babysitting for other families when I was 12, as a "mother's helper" at first, but quickly became recognized as mature and capable enough to handle babysitting alone, despite my younger age. As I grew older, I took on more regular babysitting opportunities and summer-long nannying jobs, and continued this throughout college, picking up children from day care, getting them Read more home/fed/to dance class/bathed in time for their parents to return home from work. Most families I've worked with have had 2-3 kids, and I've taken care of infants through, well, really no age limit! I was a preschool church school assistant teacher for a couple of years in high school and college, as well as a Vacation Bible School volunteer (with elementary age) for a few years as well. I was a Middle School Youth Group volunteer for weekly youth group, and took part in week-long summer camps for multiple years with the middle schoolers. This mainly took place with Doylestown Presbyterian Church, but I also helped with preschoolers at Overbrook Presbyterian Church while in college at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia.
