After spending the last two years working on my MFA in Studio Art at the University of Delaware, I am seeking employment with a loving and communicative family that needs in-home childcare. I spent 4 years working as an infant nanny prior to continuing my studies and I am currently looking to find a family that wants structured and nurturing care for their growing baby. Creativity is something that I value in my day to day life and it seeps into how I spend my time with the children that I care for. Time spent between naps and feedings are centered around spending quality time with the babies I care for: reading to them, singing to them, going to walks, and working on meeting developmental milestones. I also enjoy participating in imaginary play with older children and like to help them come up with ways to make their imagination come to life with what is available to us (helping to develop resourcefulness from a young age). I am a screen-free Nanny therefore I am always thinking of fun new ways to create an enriching home environment for children when I am with them. I would make a great addition to a family that is looking to maintain a consistent schedule with their new baby. I am a big advocate for keeping a written log of how my day is spent with the baby so that parents are always aware of how we are spending our time, what skills we are working on (as they get older), and even what might need to be adjusted as a growing child’s needs change! I am also willing to complete small household tasks to help contribute to a home environment that is peaceful and well managed. My goal is to help raise vibrant and responsible children who are well equipped to handle the world ahead of them. I really do believe that children glean the most information from observing how we, as adults, behave around them therefore I like to lead by example and behave naturally in their presence. I want to help influence and encourage children to be themselves, embrace and cherish what makes them unique, and really thoughtfully engage with their surroundings.
