Hello! My name is Megan Rose and I am a freshmen, upcoming sophomore in fall 2019, studying to becoming a high school history teacher with a minor in political science at Ohio University. At Ohio University I am a Resident Assistant (RA) who is a student staff member who is responsible for a floor or living area within a residence hall. I am the front-line staff member in the assigned area, and as an RA I am responsible for serving as a mentor and guide to their residents while also cultivating a cooperative and inclusive community. I am also a tour guide at OU giving tours to perspective students. As an education major I have an updated background check as well as a tuberculous test. I live in Centerville Ohio with my mom, dad, and younger sister. I was originally born in Anhui China but was adopted by my mom Read more and dad when I was 9 months old. The summer of my senior year I began working as a high school helper for my babysitter in my neighborhood who runs a daycare out of her home. From that summer, 2017 to right before I went off to college in August of 2018, I would work with children ranging from 6-7 months up to 14 years of age. I drove directly from school to the daycare after school and would stay from 3-5PM. During that time it was my responsibility to wake the younger children from their naps and get an afternoon snack ready and then play games or go outside and watch them until their parents came to pick them up. The snacks usually consisted of fresh fruit or vegetables, the woman who runs the daycare Mrs. Schulte has a garden that the children help take care of, sometimes there would be Popsicle's for the kids on a hot day.
