I am a UNLV senior that is graduating this semester with degrees in Communication Studies and Psychology. I have been accepted to Columbia University's Master of Social Work program and will be attending in September! Children are my passion--I currently advocate for four children in the foster care system as a CASA and I am a youth grief group facilitator with Adam's Place. At UNLV, I have taken courses in child psychology, youth development, and other relevant courses that allow me to excel with children. While at Columbia University, I will specialize in family, youth, and children's services in order to become a youth psychotherapist. Along with my experience working with children in the Las Vegas community, I have been a babysitter for over 5 years for friends and family. I have babysat children from a variety of age groups ranging from infancy to adolescence. I am most comfortable babysitting Read more children that are between ages 3 and 15. Having been on the Dean's Honor List since my freshman year of college, I am able to help with challenging homework assignments. While living in Italy for a year, I was an English teaching intern and tutor for nearly 50 students aged 13-16, so I have an abundance of tutoring experience. Outside of school, I am very passionate about cooking. I love making food at home and rarely go out to eat. When I'm done with my schoolwork, I can often be found experimenting in the kitchen! I also love spending time with animals. I volunteer at a local service dog organization and won the UNLV Student Community Engagement award for my work with the nonprofit. I would be more than happy to feed and walk any animals while babysitting! I absolutely love being around kiddos--they bring out the inner child in me! Some fun activities that I often do when babysitting include: going to parks, playing tag, playing board games, drawing, playing with toys, doing science experiments, and baking! I would love to meet you and your lovely family!
