Hello! My name is Karli and I have recently moved to Charleston, South Carolina after graduating James Madison University in May 2019. I'm so thrilled to be starting a new adventure in such a beautiful area. I grew up by the beach in Lewes, Delaware and have always led an active and adventurous lifestyle. I started babysitting when I was 14 and every childcare experience I have had since then, I have found that I learn so much from them. I love seeing their curiosity and passion about the world around them and how willing they are to learn. Past families I have worked with have commented on how present I am with their children and the desire I have to be a healthy influence on them. I believe children's thoughts and ideas should be respected and encouraged. At the end of the day, everyone just wants to be heard Read more and children are no exception. I used to babysit for a family who had two young boys. The youngest boy had autism. It was really my first experience with someone who has special needs and I was very nervous, but soon enough I developed ways to communicate with him easily through hand gestures and specific phrases. I also encouraged him to be very creative and over a short period of time he really began to trust me. Of course there were times where I would be having a hard time connecting with him but that is when I really learned the true meaning of patience.
