As a 10 year veteran of public education, I am comfortable with responsibility and the care of children as well as progress reporting. As a person, I am love stories, activities, cooking, baking, coloring, listening to daily successes of kids and the things that make them excited. Also, I love going to the pool and hiking. I am CPR certified and with an extensive background in first aid, lifesaving, water safety, and wilderness care (though CPR is the only current certification). I love to travel and teach and explore and would love to help your children discover their world and pique their curiosity.

am a widower with two kids who is recovering from serious surgery for an injury that occurred during the school year and my mobility was going to be severely restricted for the summer and a bit beyond. This left me in need of someone to care for my kids over the summer. I needed someone to help me achieve goals for my kids over the summer on top of all the regular things of “get the kids to point a and b.” I needed someone who could flex and be creative around activities and still help accomplish goal of working with my son (with ADHD) on reading and my daughter on confidence and reading. Someone who could get them to their various activities and keep them from being sucked into a summer of just technology. This is GiGi. She did all this and more. She worked with them on cleaning, life skills and making sure they were still kids. My daughter got hooked on roller-skating; got them swimming and more confident in the water. Helped me out by doing some shopping. I felt safe and confident with my kids well being, which is hard for me given all that has gone on, with GiGi. Her teaching background made me feel confident in her ability to work with my son. Her sense of humor and silliness made me feel confident that my daughter would have fun. She dealt with the ambiguity of the situation amazingly well (this is because I’m in a complex space and am dealing with making the day work); the complex nature of two kids who have lost their mom and who still are young and need to be kids and have fun. She is incredibly communicative and open around what she is seeing and thoughts on approaches. I wouldn’t hesitate in hiring her.

Gisela looked after my 2 kids when I was out of town for a few days. She was responsible for driving them back and forth to school and other classes, their meals, etc. She did a great job. She was punctual, responsible and made sure the kids were well taken care of. She spent half a day baking with the kids on the weekend, which the kids loved. She kept me in the loop all thru via texting so I knew what was happening. Would definitely recommend her.
