Hello, My name is Shari (shuh-re) but I go by Sj. A little bit about me. I’m a type 1 Diabetic, I have been since I was 11. I’m pretty well managed and will have my own snacks for low blood-sugars on me if it should arise. I do have to check my blood-sugar and take insulin shots when I eat. I’ve never had a situation where my Diabetes has prevented me from taking care of the kids, elders, or pets I’m watching. I prefer to be honest and upfront about it. I’m a 23 year old female. I am empathetic, compassionate, caring, and kind. I do my best to communicate, ask questions, be flexible, and open minded to help everyone feel safe and comfortable with their loved ones in my care. I’m a very family oriented person. I love doing creative things, painting, coloring, crafts. Provided I have the Read more ability to (little ones at tow) I will always clean up after myself and the ones in my care. I love to take care of kids, animals, and my elders. Helping and caring for people and animals is as normal to me as breathing air. I have taken care of all ages from a few months old to teenagers. I have regularly taken care of 21 different children. I have had twins, premies, and medication reliant children in my care. I have experience with cats, dogs, bunnies, rats, hamsters, ferrets, snakes, crested geckos, and leopard geckos. I’ve worked as a patient attendant in a hospital. Sitting in the room with a patient or watching up to 12 patients on a monitor at a time. Watching for seizures, pulling out medical equipment/lines, suicide risks, fall risks, kids who’s parents aren't allowed to stay overnight. I’ve also worked as a Pharmacy Technician. Filling and giving out peoples medicine. I have several references I could provide you contact information for upon request. I have no criminal record. No driving penalties. I have a driver’s license. I do have a vehicle, that is reliable and safe to get me too and from where I need to be. I don’t mind driving around me or an area I’m familiar with.
