Hi, my name is Shea and I am from Waterford, CT but currently I am a junior at the University of Connecticut Storrs campus. I am 21 years old and I come from a large family with a lot of younger cousins. I have been babysitting/nannying for much of my life and have a lot of experience with it. In my hometown, I have had 2 long-term nannying positions. When I was 17 I babysat 2 girls age 4 and age 6. I would go over in the morning before the parents left for work and I would stay with them for a couple hours. My daily tasks included feeding them lunch and entertaining them while the parents were gone. I did this for a whole summer. My other long-term nannying job that I had was more of a commitment. I would drive 30 mins to their house to be Read more there at 6am before the parents left for work. After the parents left I would feed the kids (girl-age 2 and boy-age 5) breakfast. I then would entertain them during the day and make sure they were safe. Depending on the day, I would take them on walks to the local playground or bring them to the beach. They even had a pool next door that I would take them too. I was given a lot of responsibility because I was driving them and watching them around water. I was 18 at the time I was babysitting them and had this position for 3 months (I only stopped because I was beginning college). I would stay until 4-4:30 when the parents got home. I would also feed them lunch and snacks throughout the day to ensure they were healthy and full. Throughout, my adolescent years I had other numerous babysitting jobs that were occasional: meaning they would be just for nights when parents would go out. I have taken care of a wide range of children spanning from 1-15 years old. Overall, I love kids and I have a lot of experience taking care of them.
