Hello! My name is Caitlyn, I am 20-years-old, and I am studying Psychology at Clark University. I am home for the summer and looking for a babysitter and/or nanny position! I live in Norwich. I have my own car and a squeaky-clean driving record. I am comfortable traveling up to 25 miles and providing transportation for your child(ren) if needed. I absolutely love kids and have tons of experience with them! In 8th grade, I tutored elementary and early-middle school children. I also supervised and ran activities for groups of kids while their parents attended PTA meetings. In high school, I provided weekly one-on-one mentoring for a 4th-grade boy through a program called Reading Buddies for about one year. I began volunteering in 2018 for the Electric Boat Management Association--they put on holiday parties for children from infancy up to age 12. I help organize the parties, plan and run Read more activities, and engage with the kids. In the Fall 2019 semester, I joined a program at my university called All Kinds of Girls as a mentor. The program is for females ages 9-16 in Worcester, MA. We work with the girls to cultivate/promote self-esteem, leadership skills, and self-expression; build a companionship through mentoring; and provide them with a positive role-model. I work primarily with the 12-year-olds, but we frequently do large group activities with the younger girls as well. In my time at Clark University so far, I have taken several psychology courses related to human development; I understand the physical, cognitive, and social/emotional development of children quite well. I am passionate about promoting mental health and wellness. Through an intensive education program called the Student Support Network (run by a therapist at my university's counseling center), I have learned how to respond in crises and how to help others with emotion-regulation and coping skills. Working with kids has always been a passion of mine. It brings me so much joy! I love to plan fun activities, play games, and be creative with them! I enjoy being outdoors, doing art, and baking goodies. I am very responsible, dependable, outgoing, creative, and attentive. I am *not* CPR of First Aid Certified, but I do have basic first aid knowledge and am willing to take an online certification course (in place of an in-person course during this pandemic).
