I am 25-years-old and a college student. I'm majoring in ECE and Child Development. I'm currently in the process of receiving my Family Child Care certification this Fall-Spring term along with my goals in achieving my Degree. I'm aspiring to be a Kindergarten Teacher and own my Kindergarten Preparatory School business. Prior to my child care experience, I have been hands-on with my two younger siblings since they were born. I worked at MOPS as a daycare provider for my first job. Duties entailed Christian based teaching, arts and crafts. I would be in charge of circle time, story time, and basic daycare duties (i.e. Feeding, diaper changing, etc.). My group of children ranged from infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. I also worked as a Babysitter for 4-6 years. I am a Youth Leader in our Ministry of 8 years. I also volunteer as a sitter for our marriage retreats - group of kids range from toddlers to preteens, 10+ kids for a full weekend. To date, every Sunday morning, I work for All Saint's Episcopal Church as a Nursery Supervisor and received my Safe Church: Prevention in Child Abuse Certification. I have recently gone through Nanny Training with Growing Brilliant and received my Nanny Certification! I've nannied for 3 families: I was a Nanny for the Malones, I was in charge for basic nanny duties. I helped prepare their 4-year-old for preschool - I provided my own lesson plans and arts and crafts. I helped assist/tutor their eldest with homework when needed and I ensured their youngest twins are put down for a nap. I have been a nanny for them since September of last year. Soon after, I was a Nanny for the Treadwills their children twice a week. Aside from arts and crafts and basic nanny duties, I provided piano lessons once a week! I worked for Ms. Brun. I was in charge of basic Nanny duties for their 7 month old Granddaughter. Which includes putting her down for a nap, occasional walks to the park, play/tummy time, and even snacks. Last year in May, I left California to be an Au Pair for a host family in Australia . Although it was short-lived, it has helped me gain more confidence in my career as a nanny. Aside from my nanny title, I am also a date-night babysitter for a few families in the Natomas Park area.
