Hello and welcome! I have been running my own tutoring business for 15 years. I teach at all Math and Language Arts, as well as test prep and study skills to kids of all ages, as well as French and piano. Since my clients travel in the summer, I have openings to take new students who need intensive help in the 10 weeks off school. It is the perfect time to firm up a shaky 6th grade Math student so that s/he can enter 7th grade with confidence. Those holes in learning don't just get filled on their own. This precisely where I come in. I am a certified teacher. I am professional, timely, thorough and my students love my relaxed and easygoing personality. I can get kids from a D to an A! As a public school employee, all my fingerprinting and background check are current and on file with a local school district. Most of my work is in the Forest Heights/Bethany area of Portland but I am willing to travel further if necessary, if the job warrants it. I am bilingual French and do lots of work with students at the French American School on Cornell Road in Portland and am approved by them to tutor on their campus several days a week after school. If your child speaks French and has no exposure to it over the summer, a lot of their language acquisition skills might be lost or at least severely weakened. I advise parents to keep their kids current and this is an area I can help with too. Games, songs, reading and discussing French books, fun French worksheets, and so on.
