About Dana

For the last year I have been a literacy tutor for the city of Buffalo. My responsibilities began with testing each child to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses. After the results were determined, I was then responsible for developing Individual Academic Plans (IAP's) for each student. I developed and implemented age appropriate activities. Some of the areas that were addressed were reading comprehension , grammar and vocabulary development, fluency, composition, and the ability to verbally discuss the texts we have read and the writing each student composed. It was a challenging, but extremely rewarding experience. My passion is reading and writing so it was extremely rewarding to be able to work with others to develop their own voice in what they write and to express their thoughts about what they read.
