I've worked with children in the past with autism, doing drills, such as flashcards, etc. and positive reinforcement. My mother is an autism consultant and I would help her out when she needed someone to work with a child. I also have a son on the spectrum. I know how challenging times can be and also how rewarding it is to see a child master a skill that you have been working on for a long period of time! It's not always easy, but working with children with special needs is always very rewarding. These moments outweigh by far the difficult times! I am also a pet sitter. I started my own business not too long ago. Much of what I know I have learned through working as a nanny, by helping my mother with children with Autism (this is her field) and most of all raising my three sons, all of which have special needs. I have 21-year-old twins one with Klippel Feil Syndrome and his brother with Asperger's Syndrome. My youngest son is 18 years old and has ADHD and Tourette Syndrome. I've learned a lot over the years! I currently take care of an 8-year-old boy with a rare syndrome. He is a lot of fun! I know how hard it can be to find time for you and your spouse! I would be happy to spend a weekend in your home caring for your child to give you and your spouse a chance to enjoy some quality time together!
