I have worked as a CNA for over 7 years. In both a skilled and home setting. I started off as an activity aide in a nursing home when I was 18. That helped me gain experience by interaction between myself and the residents. Soon after I went to private duty for a resident that was going home. I did that for a while and I went to working back at a nursing home doing marketing and finally I received my CNA license after 6 years. I've worked memory care, with paralyzed patients, rehab care (ones that were temporarily there for strength and rehabilitation), home setting and a skilled facility. I think that is where most experience comes in at because you work with so many patients that range from the simplest care to the end of life care. I do not smoke. I'll help out with pets and other light home duties. Look after your fur babies, clean your home and do the little errands you just do not have time to do.
