About Shannon

Hi, I have a love for being around people of all ages. I come from a very large family. I'm one of six children, I grew up with 46 aunts and uncles and 64 first cousins and many of them have children. My experience involves :being a companion for the elderly, working for a man in his 60's, working in a dining hall serving the elderly nuns, caring for children in daycares and as a nanny, working with severely handicapped adults in a day program, working as an aide for children with disabilities in schools and caring for my grandparents. Some of the things I did involved: changing people, assisting with the bathroom, lifting and moving people, cleaning, helping to prepare meals, driving to appointments, administering medication/reminders, feeding, assisting with walkers and wheelchairs and just being there as company and making sure they are comfortable and happy.
