I have spent the better part of the last 6 years working as a mission nurse in Africa, Swaziland and Ghana. The majority of people I have worked with are the elderly and children. I have dealt with the common intestinal and respiratory ailments as well as AIDS, Tuberculosis, Cancer, malaria and typhoid. I have done much of my work in the USA as a volunteer or as a healthcare worker assigned to mostly elderly clients. As I am now becoming a senior citizen myself, I think I have a good understanding of the problems many elderly face on a daily basis.
