About Ralph

12 years ago I helped care for my father who became bedridden with Alzheimer's (where I became familiar with the Hoyer Lift). More recently I began keeping a friend's mother (who also had dementia) company a few times a week. For the past two years I have been doing daytime care for a gentleman with ALS (on a respirator, never bedridden, but needed to be moved from the bed, chair, bath ... and to be fed). I have found the experience surprisingly very rewarding. I'm not a great cook, but I'm told I have the gift of gab (small talk, building relationships). Continence not required.
