I cared for my grandmother during her Alzheimer's struggle till she passed about 15 years ago. Years later I decided to make a career change and start work with memory care disease patients. I have since had several Alzheimer's and Dementia suffering patients of whom all had other underlying illnesses/disease such as Kidney Disease, Schizophrenia, Parkinson's Disease, and Cancers. I've worked with hospice and have experience seeing the patients to the end of life. I'm a certified caregiver and Med Technician for Assisted Living Facilities as well as a registered HCA in California. I believe when caring for the elderly especially with Dementia, its important to care for the whole person, not just their disease. I offer not just physical but emotional support for them as well as their families because to me, they suffer the disease as well.
