About Megan

I spent much of my early 20's caring for seniors full time. I worked full-time for Home Instead Senior Care for one year, and then moved to taking care of my senior grandparents full-time. My grandmother had a 15 year battle with Alzheimer's Disease and required extensive care including bathing, feeding, bathroom assistance, and medication. She also loved to dance before she was in a wheelchair, and hear the music she grew up with. My grandfather had a stroke and had some dementia as a result. He also had low blood pressure and some mobility challenges. Caring for them was one of the most impactful "jobs" I have ever had. It shaped my perspective on so many things and has motivated me to spend more time with seniors. For the past few years I have been using my Linguistics degree at an assistive listening technology company that helps people with hearing loss to hear better in public spaces. I'm interested in working with seniors who are in need of assistance or companionship!
