About Mary Beth

I am a compassionate, well educated, 57-year-old professional who is transitioning from my profession as an architect to become a caregiver for seniors and/or families. I have 23 years of experience as a "second mom" for my 4 nephews who live nearby. I also have 16 years of experience as caregiver for my own mother who recently passed away. I helped her stay at home then transition from independent living to assisted living to memory care and finally to long term nursing car. During that time I learned first hand how difficult it is to find good caregivers and what love and patience it takes. I love connecting with people. I run on empathy, optimism, kindness and humor. I am super responsible and conscientious, and have a lot of energy for errands, light house work, cooking, etc. I believe the key to caregiving is to create moments of joy, however small, on a daily basis. I hope I can share my love for art, music (I play piano), literature and nature with the person(s) I am caring for.
