Experience as personal caregiver for parent during decline from vascular dementia. Duties included assistance with daily activities, personal grooming, errands, doctor and rehab appointments, meal prep, and house maintenance/management, and coordination of hospice services. Also worked for outside home health agency offering client assistance and companionship. Studied gerontology and social work at graduate school level. Clients have told me they enjoyed my company and outings we shared together. They felt comfortable with my care for them and said they trusted me. I showed sensitivity toward their wishes, honored their privacy, treated them with respect, and helped maintain their dignity. Most clients specifically requested me to assist them when they called the agency for help.
