My name is Luyanda , I'm a recently Certified Nursing Assistant graduated from Vision Allied Health Institute, awaiting my license from the Maryland of Nursing and have 5 years caregiving experience related to dementia and diabetes care prior to becoming certified. In addition to being a CNA, I'm in possession of a CPR, First Aid and AED certificate obtained from the American Red Heart Association. My Responsibilities as a CNA and caregiver include but are not limited to assisting with ADL's such as bathing and dressing, keeping client's living spaces neat and tidy, providing meals according to preferences chosen by the client, wound care for non-sterile wounds, assisting with medication prescribed and according to the instructions of a nurse and client's family members, light household cleaning, running errands such as groceries and doctors appointments, assisting with staying fit and proving overall care for the client.

Luyanda initially appeared to be a friendly, caring, and capable caregiver. My family was impressed with her when we interviewed her, and we were happy to have her care for my husband. She was kind to my husband, and he seemed to like her. However, Luyanda only worked with my husband for a week and spent most of that time working alongside my husband's father, who was providing initial guidance and support. The reason for my low rating is that Luyanda ultimately abandoned the job abruptly with an ambiguous explanation and poor communication. My family tried to elicit honest feedback and provide a safe space for her to be honest with us. Instead, she chose to tell us that she needed to take an emergency leave of absence. We did not hear from her for almost two weeks regarding whether or not she still wanted the job. Regardless of the truth or falsehood of the circumstances she claims necessitated the leave of absence, her lack of integrity created a stressful situation for my family.
