Hi!, I'm Lori and I have 15 plus years caring for seniors and the disabled. Besides volunteering in nursing homes while in high school and working as an intake manager in a retirement home as a young adult, my husband suffered a ruptured aneurysm in 2016 leaving me as his sole caregiver. We spent 6 months in hospitals, nursing homes and rehabs. In summer 2016, I trained with therapists at Magee rehab so I could take him home. I helped him relearn how to walk, talk, bathe, dress and feed himself. In August of 2016 I took him home and was his sole caregiver until he died of a second stroke in March of 2018. Since that time I have worked with many families/seniors in many different capacities. My experience, empathy, patience and kindness run deep. I have excellent references and I am CPR certified. We hired Lori to be Mom’s morning companion in November and were impressed by her energy, compassion, and knowledge of what it takes to work with people who are struggling with dementia but are still with it enough to want meaningful interaction with others. Lori has a sense of style which Mom really appreciated and took advantage of when Lori helped her to get dressed each morning. Unfortunately, Mom had a major stroke and passed in December. Lori was wonderful and so helpful during this stressful time. She continued to be Mom's morning companion and helped us fulfill Mom's wishes of not being alone in her last hours.
