About Lisa

I have spent the last 18 months caring for an older woman who had dementia and utilized a wheelchair for transportation throughout the home she shared with her daughter and son in law. Unfortunately, she passed within the last month. I provided care for her for 3 hours per day/5 days each week. I usually prepared her lunch and kept her safe in her home environment. My role was to offer her daughter respite care, and to enable the daughter time for errands or gardening. She was not particularly interested in any leisure activities, but we did engage in some social conversation. During the last 18 months, I have also been providing care for an 11-year-old boy who has developmental delays and autism. His family situation has changed and I am not needed as much to provide care for him. I am interested in working with an older adult or a child or adult with special needs. I would especially like to work with an individual who would enjoy engaging in some activities.
