Hi! My family and I moved here to Clayton from Asheville 2 1/2 years ago. Leaving was difficult, as I also left my employer of almost 3 years. I am not only a caregiver who focuses on life enrichment and providing meaningful days... first and foremost, I am a friend. I spent my days with an 89 y/o amazing woman who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and vascular dementia. She spent her life caring for others as a nurse. I have been working with seniors for over 10 years, and am a COTA/L. Having worked previously as an activities director for memory care facilities, I have extensive knowledge and training in working with dementia. I most recently worked in a residential Neuro facility, specializing in TBI and SCI (I remain on staff PRN for now). But, I found that I missed that one on one relationship and personalized level of care you are able to provide when working in home care. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile, I hope to hear from you!

Leslie is an absolute gem on every level. We were so fortunate to have this talented, skilled, eagle-eyed, caring and empathetic professional walk into our lives. She'd been my elderly mom's companion and caregiver for about a year when mom sadly fell and broke her hip. Without Leslie's knowledge, support and skill set, I don't think I would have been brave enough to enter into what is now two years of at-home care for my mom. Mom has advanced vascular memory loss and is now non-ambulatory, which means we use a lift, shower chair, wheelchair and hospital bed. We wanted my beloved retired nurse mom to be able to stay in her own home and receive the very best care we could give, and with Leslie's help we made it happen. Leslie was much more than a caregiver - she was a care manager, and brought her OT skills to bear in creative ways, and most of all, she was our friend. She balanced a high degree of professionalism with warmth and humor. She is a delight and a blessing.
