About Karen

I've loved being around seniors since I was a small child. I spent lots of my childhood memories staying with my maternal & paternal grandparents. In addition I was close to my maternal great-grandmother. As an adult I've been a involved (along with my husband) in serving seniors at nursing homes and assisted living facilities for over 15 years. I have cared for my mother in law who had dementia/Alzheimer's. And I have cared for my mom as well who also has dementia/Alzheimer's. I thoroughly enjoy spending time listening to seniors share their stories. I find seniors to be interesting and filled with a life full of wisdom. I enjoy helping out with housekeeping, meal preparation, grocery store and pharmaceutical runs for the senior, and any hobbies games that seniors enjoy doing. I believe our seniors have a great need for companionship and they need to be as active as they are possibly able to.
