About Joann

I cared for my mother-in-law for four years, she has Alzheimer's. I took her to doctor's appointments and any tests she needed, provided medications, bathing, dressing, feeding, getting her up in the mornings and putting her to bed at night. Back in 1998, I took care of my sister who was dying of cancer. I helped take care of her until the end. In doing this, I would like to continue to take care of elderly. I've seen what my mother-in-law went through, she was in a nursing home for therapy for a short time and that was no place to keep her, so we brought her home and cared for her. I am so glad I did. She never wanted to be in a nursing home. The one-on-one contact kept her with some reality of where she was and who she was with. When she passed, she was in the last stage of Alzheimer's and still knew us. I want to help others be as comfortable as possible and be able to stay at home as long as they can. I worked for a company starting 2008 and worked with them up until 2015 caring for people in their homes. This was a great opportunity for me and I would like to continue with this kind of work.
