I have specialized in Alzheimer/dementia patients with multiple levels of needed care. I have assisted clients with over 22 diseases/disorders. Some were active and content, others were immobile, still others bedridden and incontinent. Most recently, for the past 10 months I have cared for a 92-year-old, immobile all but her right arm, diagnosed w Dementia/symptomatic of Alzheimer's, 24/7, literally. When I arrived she could only chew for herself & bedridden up to 16 hrs a day. During & after my care & encouragement w PT, OT, & daily activities including crafts & cooking her favorite recipes from days past, she is now able to march, do torso exercises, arm lifts, sit on the edge of the bed, help dress herself, brush her hair & teeth, spend the day in a wheelchair, assist with cooking, participate in activities. It is my belief system to care most devotedly for the most vulnerable, offering them the utmost dignity and respect as they struggle to endure their trials brought on by aging..
