I had arranged with Jacquelyn to drive and accompany me to my cataract surgeries and next-day follow-up appointments a week apart. I had asked how she preferred to be paid and in what increments I would be billed (1/4, 1/2, full hour?). She told me her preferred ways to be paid but didn't answer my question about billing increments. I also requested any future communications be sent via text because I access it continually, unlike my email. My first surgery was at 1:50 p.m. and I received an email at 11:17 a.m. that morning from Jacquelyn saying she would not be available because she had tested positive for COVID. Of course, I appreciated the info but felt it could have been delivered earlier and by text as asked. Also, she didn't address the second appointment booked for a week later at all.
