Hello there! My name is Gabby V, and I'm currently a student at Webster majoring in International Human Rights. I also have my associates in psychology.. I've been working in the care industry for nearly a decade, ranging from nanny work to volunteering at local assisted living homes. I wouldn't narrow my passion down to senior care or child care, I'm just passionate about people in general. I love meeting new people and learning about them, being able to make new friends is one of the best gifts we're granted with. I believe that you can expand your knowledge by learning from others, especially those who have been through their own lives already and have stories and lessons to share. My great grandparents immigrated here from Italy and both my grandma and grandpa are full of stories that always keep me glued to my seat. I'm very close to them although we don't live in the same state anymore, and I've helped my dad take care of them for the last five or six years. I've also been volunteering on my own, with choirs, and with my past theater groups at nursing homes and assisted living homes since I was in elementary school. I love to cook, so I'm more than willing to help out with meals. I also have my own car and can help with any errands or shopping, or even trips just to get out and have some fun. Help around the house, or with pets is also something I'm very willing to help with! I'm also currently volunteering with an organization called IMAlive, which was created by the founders of the Suicide Hotline. However, instead of calling, men and women of any age can log onto the internet to chat with a crisis intervention specialist (my job). It's a very rewarding job being able to give people someone to talk to when they most need it.
