About Emily

Hi! My name is Emily. I'm originally from Lansing and went to Michigan State University for college. I received a degree in special education, learning disabilities. I just finished my 7th year of teaching. I have taught kindergarten, elementary/middle school resource, and high school autism. Once a week I take care of my 95-year-old grandma. She suffered from a stroke years ago and recently has dementia. I clean, meal prep, help her get dressed, move around, and assist with toileting needs. I've also served on a mission trip in Ohio at a Senior Center. We had an ice cream social, painted nails, played games, and engaged in conversation. I love working with the elderly and learning from them. I am here for conversation, entertainment, support with meals, dressing, toileting, and in other ways as well!
