About Doyle

Hi, I'm a friend, dad, and local historian. Through taking local oral histories I've made strong friendships with many elderly members of our community. Their feelings of being heard and valued and my desire to connect with older generations naturally grow into lasting friendships. I would regularly take these friends to doctor's appointments, shopping, and phone each week to check on them. I believe that while physical needs are generally most emphasized in care positions, emotional needs and a feeling of being valued for oneself and one's life experiences are equally important for any person's happiness and health. A care-giver must support all dimensions of a person's needs, goals, and autonomy. I am currently working full-time in a child-care center, but I find more joy and satisfaction with the elderly, and would like to take this passion to a paid position that allows me to support my two wonderful kids through college.
