I have been caring for seniors since I was 13 years old. When I was 13 I would stay with my great aunt throughout the week because she was closer to my school and needed help around the house. I would wake up every morning at 5 a.m. to make her breakfast, then get her washed and dressed for the day. While she ate her breakfast I would be getting g ready for school, so that I could catch the bus. I became so good at caring for my great aunt that she became very dependent on me being there. She passed away years later but I'm glad I was able to have a good bond with her and care for her while I could.
