Growing up my parents visited nursing homes regularly and I fell in love with the elderly their wisdom is baffling to me. My grandma had a stroke when I was 11 and was bedridden til she passed away almost 2 years late my parents moved her in with us. I learned how to care for the elderly then as I enjoyed helping my mom. A few months after my mamma passed my uncle moved in with us he has copd he passed away after several months staying with us but I treasured every minute. In 2019 I sat with a couple for a year and was a Live in personal care assistant. The gentleman was bedridden and his wife had alzheimers so I stayed on my tiptoes. As stressful as it was sometimes keeping up with both of their needs I loved it. I loved both of them. I play piano mostly southern gospel hymns so if your loved ones love music or southern gospel music and have a piano that can be an added bonus. I love to crochet and knit as well as sew and embroider. I love to read and cook as well.
