I helped my step-mother for 10 years with my dad who suffered a stroke affecting his right side leaving him unable to speak and he also had macular degeneration. Also, I cared for a gentleman friend for three plus years while working a full-time job. He survived three strokes with the last being a dual and then he also had a nickel size blood clot removed from his brain. I was able to assist him with his financial matters, grocery shopping, meal preparations, and house cleaning until I decided to relocate to North Carolina to be closer to my children.
