I have approximately 16 years of combined experience as a caregiver in private homes as well as in retirement facility settings. In my early employment I worked as a CNA in skilled nursing facilities. One of my recent positions was as head caregiver, administering personal care to an elderly dementia client which included transportation, bathing/grooming, med reminders, cooking, light housekeeping, shopping, organizing day trips and overnight stays for and with the client, as well as being the liaison between other staff members, doctors, visiting nurses, etc. and the family members. In short, running the household. I have worked in conjunction with Home Health and Hospice. I am proficient in the use of most durable medical equipment: Wheelchairs, C-Pap, Oxygen compressors, portable oxygen, etc. As a Caregiver I believe in maintaining quality of life and well being, safety and assuring peace of mind for the client and their loved ones.
